1. At a glance
Crawford is in Cork city centre on Sharman Crawford Street. MTU lists Honours Degrees in Fine Art and Contemporary Applied Art (Ceramics, Glass, Textiles), plus postgraduate degrees in Fine Art, Art Education and Art Therapy.
2. What MTU offers
MTU does not own a residence for Crawford. Its accommodation page describes three types (purpose-built student apartments, shared houses/apartments, digs) and sends Cork students to the MTU Cork accommodation guide and the Accommodation Officer above, who helps students find a suitable place and will try to help resolve problems with accommodation.
3. Private purpose-built accommodation
MTU's current Cork provider listing (https://www.mymtu.ie/accommodation/cork/, read 1 October 2026) shows for the CCAD/CSM city-centre campuses: Amnis House (Western Road), Arcadia Hall (Lower Glanmire Road, opposite the train station), Blackmore Court (Sullivan's Quay), Coleman Court (Coleman's Lane, North Main Street), DeansHall Apartment (Crosses Green), Lee Point (South Main Street), South Mall Court (Beasley/Copley Street) and The Spires (Bandon Road). MTU states it does not own, manage or recommend any of them. MTU's accommodation page says purpose-built student apartments cost roughly EUR 4,500 to EUR 8,000 per academic year (year not stated), with fixed 9-month leases. Prices below are from UCC's published list of Cork private complexes.
| Complex | Price range | Year | Deposit | Contact |

| Coleman Court (Mezzino) | EUR 9,702-20,710 | 2026/27 | 1 week's rent | [email protected] |
| Seven North Mall (Powell Property) | EUR 5,620-7,789 | 2026/27 | EUR 350 | [email protected] |
| South Mall Court | EUR 5,540-7,414 | 2026/27 | EUR 390 + EUR 450 | [email protected] |

| Deans Hall | EUR 6,053-6,214 + charges | 2025/26 | EUR 300 | [email protected] |
4. Private renting and digs
MTU's Cork guide (rates undated on the page) lists weekly rates: lodgings with meals single 5-day EUR 140, twin 5-day EUR 100, single 7-day EUR 180, twin 7-day EUR 120; self-catering lodgings single EUR 120, twin EUR 90; shared houses single EUR 120, twin EUR 100 (deposit one month's rent), plus hostels (Kinlay House, Sheila's, Oscar's, Bru, An Oige). UCC's 2026/27 advice gives EUR 650-850 per month as typical for private rentals, house shares and digs in Cork. RTB Rent Index Q1 2026 (whole property): Cork City new tenancies EUR 1,903/month.
5. Getting around
Student Leap Card for Cork city bus per about.leapcard.ie/cork (fetched 30 Sept 2026; year not stated): EUR 0.85 per journey, EUR 2.55 daily cap, EUR 10.20 weekly cap for Young Adult/Student. The same page says Young Adult (19-25) and Student Leap Card holders get a 50% discount on participating commercial bus services; TFI (transportforireland.ie) says student Leap Card holders get "up to 50% savings". Cork city fares are therefore the flat EUR 0.85 above, not half of the adult fare.
6. Supports
MTU Cork: [email protected], +353 (0)21 432 6100. MTU Student Assistance Fund: for full- and part-time students in financial difficulty on courses of at least one year; the Cork campus page lists rent among living costs it may help with and excludes tuition; international/non-EU students are not eligible. Apply via https://www.mymtu.ie/saf; details: https://www.mycit.ie/access_disability/student-assistance-fund. Threshold (22 South Mall, Cork): freephone 1800 454 454.
7. Accessibility
Disability Support Services, Cork: [email protected], 021 433 5138. DARE: https://www.mtu.ie/access/dare/.
8. Timeline for September 2027 entry
For reference, Parchment Square (Bishopstown, not city centre) opened 2026/27 bookings on 5 March 2026; UCC advises starting the search in early January and says many options are gone by the end of February (UCC advice page, 2026/27).
9. Check before paying
Student-specific accommodation: deposit max one month's rent; advance rent limited to one month (unless rent and tuition are paid to the same provider); tenancies not above 41 weeks; tenants can end a fixed term between 1 May and 1 October (RTB). Digs are licences, so get terms in writing.

How to ask the college
- How long is the contract, and what are the exact move-in and move-out dates?
- What's included in the rent (electricity, heating, Wi-Fi, bins, insurance)?
- How much is the deposit, and when and how is it refunded?
- What are the cancellation terms if you don't get your CAO offer or change course?
- Are there rules for first years (priority, distance rules, age limits, lotteries)?
If you don't get a room
- Ask the accommodation office about waiting lists and late availability.
- Use the college's own listing service or students' union listings shown on this page.
- Consider digs (a room in a family home): see the digs and rent-a-room guide.
- Work out whether commuting is realistic using the transport details on this page.
- Start looking in spring. Don't wait for CAO offers in August.
