Doing it part-time or online (including Springboard+)
The same qualification built up part-time, online, or through Springboard+, usually while you work. Many of these courses have no points requirement, and Springboard+ places are free or heavily subsidised for eligible applicants.
What you actually do
- 1Search for the part-time, online or Springboard+ version of the course you want.
- 2Apply directly to the provider, not through the CAO.
- 3Check the fees and whether you qualify for a Springboard+ subsidy or the free places for jobseekers.
The dates that matter
Rolling, but Springboard+ courses open in June and fill through the summer for September starts.
The hard part, said plainly
Part-time study takes longer and many of these courses sit outside the Free Fees scheme, so the total cost can be higher than the full-time route. Check whether the award is the same level before you enrol.

Questions students ask about this route
Can I do a degree while working full-time?
Yes. Part-time and online degrees are designed for it, typically over four to six years, and Springboard+ funds many of them for eligible applicants.
