What you are actually paying for
The questions are the cheap part. The value sits in the report: your answers are scored against established frameworks, then turned into ranked, specific results with written reasoning. In Course Compass that means CAO courses drawn from a database of over 830, each with an explanation of why it surfaced for you and what the course involves. In the Subject Interest Test it means interest scores across the 32 Leaving Cert subjects, which is a much better basis for subject choice than "I liked that teacher".
Do not take our word for the output quality. Read a free sample report - we publish one for every assessment, including Course Compass, Subject Interest and PLC Compass.
The value case, put plainly
Dropping out of or switching a course after first year costs a student a year of fees, accommodation and time. Set against that, €34.99 to sit down properly with your interests, aptitudes and values before you fill the CAO form is a small bet. That is the honest argument for buying. It is not a promise: no assessment can guarantee you will love a course, and we do not claim to predict your points either - use the free CAO points guide and calculator for that side of the decision.
Schools
For schools it is priced per student per year: €18 for 50-149 students, €16 for 150-399 and €14 for 400 or more, covering the whole assessment suite, class allocation, the guidance counsellor dashboard, the printable worksheet library and the resource hubs. Schools can start with a free trial before committing - details on the schools page.
Who CourseCompass is not for
- Students who already have a firm, well-researched course choice. You do not need us to confirm it.
- Anyone looking for grinds, notes or past papers. That is not what we do.
- Anyone hoping for a points prediction or a guaranteed offer. Nobody can give you that.
- Students who will not answer honestly. A self-report assessment answered strategically produces a useless report.
- Students in a personal or complex situation who need a human. Talk to your guidance counsellor first; we sit alongside them, not instead of them.
