CourseCompass has launched a dedicated career guidance strand for Cork at careerguidancecork.ie — a county-focused home for students, parents and schools who want structured, professional guidance before the big decisions.
What the Cork strand offers
The strand is built around the same guidance packages used by students across Ireland:
- CAO Course Match Test (€34.99) — matches you to CAO courses from the full 1,402-course catalogue and produces a PDF guidance booklet you can bring to your school guidance meeting.
- Subject Choice (€14.99) — helps third year students pick Leaving Cert subjects that keep the right doors open.
- PLC Course Match Test (€14.99) — matches you to Post-Leaving Cert courses as a direct route or a pathway into a degree.
- Apprenticeship Match Test (€14.99) — matches you to SOLAS apprenticeships, from craft to the new professional apprenticeships.
- Full Guidance Package (€49.99) — every assessment together, for students who want the complete picture.
Each assessment takes 10–15 minutes, and every report is written to be shared with your school guidance counsellor.
Colleges in County Cork
Cork students have two major institutions in the county:
- University College Cork (UCC) — one of Ireland's leading universities, strong across medicine, law, business, science and the arts.
- Munster Technological University (MTU) — the Cork and Bishopstown campuses, with practical, career-focused degrees.
Looking further afield
Your options do not stop at the county boundary. The same assessments help you compare courses at every Irish university — and if you are thinking about studying abroad, the interests, subjects and strengths in your report travel with you, whether that means the UK, Europe, the US or anywhere else in the world.
